How to set up your artist store on Zazzle

I've had lots of people ask me how to start selling their own artwork on Zazzle. Really, the hardest step is making the artwork itself. The card below is vector art my mom made using Microsoft Word. It started as a photograph of the neighbor's horse. She then imported it to Word and traced the general shapes of the photo in vectors, adding fills and lines and artistic eye. Then she saved it as a .jpg to her computer and I uploaded the artwork to Zazzle onto a card. At that point you can use the Zazzle tools to add your own sayings to the inside of the card, or right over top of your art as shown in the copyright message on this card. The key is to plan a portfolio in advance, and then upload your artwork over time and flesh out a whole series of related products in one gallery that complement each other. When people shop, they like to have selection among related items. Try to open up several Zazzle galleries - one for your vector art, one for your photography, and one for text-only funny sayings... the list goes on and on.
