Bee class
Randy Oliver opened up some hives. We dusted for mites, learned the proper way to smoke, remove supers, discussed frame types, drone frames, brood cells, queen excluders, and more.

E the goatherd
E and I herded the goats through the upper redwoods today. They loved eating the blackberries that grew as undergrowth. And I don't mean the berries - I mean the prickly plants: leaves, stems, and all!
More Monterey
Rock climbing on the beach! Back to the car to read "Calamity Jack", the graphic novel sequel to "Rapunzel's Revenge". Fun day!

Hello goats!
Love Apple Farm received their first three goats yesterday. Welcome goats! Ella, Roberta, and Trixie. Shown in the photos is Ella, the leader of our mini herd.

One last hike
The H family is leaving today, and J&E are back. We went out for one last hike. When we got back there was a special surprise waiting for us: our new goats! Roberta, Trixie, and Ella. More on them later.
